Providing thoughtful, integrative medical care that combines conventional medicine with a broader approach to cardiovascular health, hormone health, chronic disease management and long-term wellness.
About Me
I am a Nurse Practitioner with more than 15 years of experience in front-line and specialty medicine. Throughout my career, I have worked in a wide range of clinical settings, from surgical and primary care nursing to family medicine, remote northern First Nations communities, advanced cardiology and Indigenous health.
I began my career in surgical and primary care nursing before completing my Master’s degree and becoming a Nurse Practitioner. I went on to practise family medicine at the Sudbury District Nurse Practitioner Clinic and later worked as a locum Nurse Practitioner in remote northern First Nations communities.
My career also led me to the Heart Failure Disease Management Program at Health Sciences North, where I worked with patients living with complex cardiovascular disease, multi-organ conditions and advanced illness. This experience strengthened my clinical skills in cardiovascular medicine and chronic disease management and taught me the importance of looking at the many interconnected factors that can influence a person’s health.
For the past several years, I have also worked in Indigenous health, caring for individuals with complex medical and social needs. This work has had a profound influence on the way I practise. It has reinforced the importance of listening, building trust and recognizing that meaningful healthcare needs to consider the whole person, not simply a diagnosis or set of symptoms.
Today, I bring these experiences together through an integrative approach to care. My goal is to help patients navigate their healthcare more effectively by combining conventional medical assessment, appropriate investigations and prescribing with integrative and lifestyle-based strategies when appropriate. My practice also includes bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) and testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), when clinically appropriate.
I believe there is tremendous value in having the time to understand a patient’s full health story, explore contributing factors and develop a plan that is both evidence-informed and realistic for their life.
Areas of Clinical Interest
I have a particular interest in:
Cardiovascular health, prevention and risk reduction
Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT)
Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)
Hormone health and optimization
Metabolic health
Chronic and complex health concerns
Integrative primary care
Preventative health and long-term wellness
My goal is to create a collaborative relationship where patients feel heard, respected and actively involved in their care. I am comfortable working with complexity and enjoy helping patients understand their options so that we can make thoughtful decisions together.
Beyond the Clinic
Outside of medicine, I am a father of three and a grower and orchardist, as well as the owner and steward of Beautiful Field Farm in Northern Ontario. What began as an interest in gardening and growing food has developed into a working orchard and nursery centred around hardy fruit trees, local agriculture, food security and permaculture.
Working with the land has influenced the way I think about health. Growing an orchard requires patience, observation and an appreciation for the many factors that allow something to thrive. I bring much of that same perspective to healthcare: strong foundations matter, meaningful change takes time, and health is rarely about just one thing.
Whether I am working with a patient or tending an orchard, I value curiosity, connection and helping create the conditions for long-term health and resilience.
