Frequently asked questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

We love welcoming new patients from Kingston, Ontario and surrounding areas. Whether you’re visiting us for Naturopathic care, Acupuncture, IV therapy, integrative cancer support, or psychotherapy here are answers to the most common questions we hear.

1. Are Naturopathic visits covered by insurance in Ontario?

In Ontario, OHIP does not cover Naturopathic medicine. However, many extended health insurance plans include coverage for Naturopathic services. Payment is collected at the time of your appointment, and we provide a detailed receipt for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Extended health benefits often also cover services from Registered Acupuncturists, Registered Psychotherapists, and consultations with a Social Worker. Additional services, such as lab testing, professional-grade supplements, and IV therapy treatments, may also be eligible for coverage. Please check with your individual insurance provider to confirm your specific benefits.

For patients without extended health insurance, consultations with most licensed and regulated healthcare providers are considered eligible medical expenses and may be claimed on your annual tax return.

3. What can I expect at my first appointment?

Your first visit includes:

  • A detailed discussion of your health history and goals

  • Physical assessments as needed (with your Naturopathic Doctor)

  • Time to ask questions about your care options

  • A customized plan with clear next steps

Many patients say they appreciate the unhurried, one-on-one attention they receive.

4. How many visits will I need?

The number of visits varies depending on your health goals and needs. Your healthcare provider will discuss your care plan with you over time, adjusting recommendations as your progress is assessed. Some patients notice improvements quickly, while others benefit from ongoing, seasonal, or periodic check-ins to support long-term wellness.
